Giant Services Limited offers an impressive range of market leading solutions to a wide range of industry sectors. We can enhance your company’s performance and help to protect your business, your people and the environment, providing tailor-made services and responding to industry challenges.

Integrated solutions - Total Waste Management

The simplest type of client relationship can accommodate a single waste problem, but at the other end of the spectrum we can engineer a fully integrated solution encompassing the broadest range of waste and environmental service activities available. Through win-win partnerships clients can unlock value in their businesses by outsourcing the headache of managing environmental challenges. Through our dedicated research & development facility and global network of research engineers, we create leading edge waste treatment methods and technologies that help you reduce costs, enhance productivity and add value to your operations and processes.

Helping you manage risk and minimize waste, we offer a comprehensive audit service that ensures expert evaluation of your business needs, from which we develop appropriate solutions based on the most effective choice of collection, treatment and/or disposal techniques.

A professional approach

We offer complete waste management provision based on a professional and timely service with the emphasis on recycling and responsible disposal. This gives you everything you need to meet both business obligations and the challenges of increasingly stringent legislation.

The key programme areas of activity include:

1)                 ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY AND STANDARD

(a)              Waste management technology (Treatment/Stabilization of Drilling cutting)

(b)              Pollution abatement technology

(c)      Environment quality standards, laboratory services and instrumentation.

2)          Compliance monitoring and enforcement which embraces urban monitoring, trans-boundary/hazardous substance monitoring.

We also offer Laboratory service, water treatment and technical training to all industries in the Public and Private Sectors of the Nigerian Industrial Economy

3)    TOXICITY TEST OF INDUSTRIAL CHEMICALS & MATERIALS

Toxicity testing of Chemicals are performed to determine the set of inherent properties of contemplated Chemical substances or mixtures, which make them capable of causing adverse effects on man or the environment, hence, it is normal that the Chemicals to be used in the oil field must be tested for its toxicity.

 4)    BIODEGRADABILITY TESTS

It is a requirement of FEPA and D.P.R. that new Chemicals should be tested for biodegradability, we offer such services.

One of the more common unit processes in treatment of water and waste water is the coagulation flocculation process. Both processes are often regarded as one unit function, yet each process is quite distinct.

 ORGANIC/INORGANIC COAGULANTS

Organic and inorganic coagulants are chemicals used to enhance colloidal particles within the water to stick or bond together when contact is made. They also assist in regulating the pH (Hydrogen ion concentration).

 ORGANIC COAGULANTS

1.                 Poly – Dadmac, Diallydimethylammonium chloride

2.                 Polymaines Quaternaries – Quats

 INORGANIC COAGULANTS

1.       Aluminum sulphate           A12 (SO4)3

2.       Ferric chloride                  Fe (SO4)3

3.       Ferric chloride                  Fecl3

4.       Calcium chloride               CaCl2

5.       Calcium Hydroxide Ca (OH)2

6.       Sodium chloride               Nacl

 COAGULATION/STABILIZATION OF MUD

Coagulation is the addition of chemicals to drilling mud causing the colloidal particles with the mud to bond or stick together when contact is made. Mixing is utilized during coagulation to provide a rapid and uniform dispersion of the chemicals and also increase the opportunity for particle to particle contact. Normally, the entire process occurs in less than one second. Coagulation is most often accomplished with alum (aluminum sulfate), ferric chloride, ferric sulphate or lime. These chemicals are dispersed within the fluid by a static mixer.

 STABILIZATION UNIT OF DRILLING CUTTINGS

Stabilization unit consist of four (4) chambers fitted with mixer machines. Each chamber is interlinked with a conveyor which carries drilling cuttings with organic and inorganic coagulants from one chamber to another. It is obvious that at the last chamber, particle to particle bonding is 100% achieved. Each chamber is a dosing point for the coagulants against colloidal particles.

All our services are supported by practical advice, on the waste minimization, reduction of emission, effluent and discharges, which may have negative impact on the environment.
